Summary:
1.0 TEAM High School (Alternative High School) Math/Science Teacher for the Woodland School District.
Duties and
Responsibilities:
Teach District-approved curriculum.
Plan a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students.
Develop lesson plans and instructional material and provides individualized and small group instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each pupil.
Encourage students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior.
Communicate regularly with parents outside normal classroom day by means of newsletters, notes, phone calls, conferences, etc.
Diagnose the learning disabilities of students.
Establish and maintain standards of pupil behavior to achieve an effective learning atmosphere.
Recognize and manage conditions which may lead to student control problems.
Establish clear parameters for student in classroom conduct and makes these expectations known.
Evaluate pupils' academic and social growth, keeps appropriate records and prepares progress reports.
Available to students and parents for education-related purposes outside the instructional day.
Create a climate of mutual respect between the teacher and their students.
Develop substitute plans when absent in enough detail for continued learning.
Supervises classroom and students.
Requirements:
Hold a valid Washington State teaching certificate with secondary endorsement in Math and Science.
Meets NCLB Highly Qualified requirements for Secondary Math and Science.
Bachelor of Arts degree.
Master's Preferred.
Ability to teach using a variety of teaching strategies addressing differing student learning styles often within the same class setting and blocks of time.
Well-developed management skills, people skills and effective communication skills.
Meticulous recordkeeping skills.
Ability to work with high school students in an alternative school.
Ability to teach other curriculum besides Math and Science.
Computer literate and can learn and use APEX Curriculum.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Ability to be able to teach a variety of times throughout the week.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory to instructional program; ability to plan and implement lessons based on division and school objectives and the needs and abilities of students to whom assigned.
Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students, peers and parents; skill in oral and written communication.
Ability to help all students in a variety of subjects.
Ability to work with disadvantaged students who desire to learn in a different environment.
Ability to counsel students when necessary.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
